By creating and maintaining a friendly and positive atmosphere for everyone who visits our club, we have become the most welcoming rugby club in Cheltenham. We are a family friendly club with a commitment to the community, where children can develop in an enjoyable, safe environment.
The children are at the centre of everything we do, and our aim is to help the children grow as rugby players as well as physically and socially.
Sundays: U11s 10.00 - 11.30 | U12s girls 10.00 - 11.30 | U14s 10.00 - 12.0 | U6s 10.00 - 12.00
We have been running youth rugby since 2017 and have a growing number of players and age groups. We are always happy to welcome new players, so why not come down for a Free session. It doesn’t matter whether your child has played before or not.
Sharks Rugby provides the perfect pathway for boys and girls to learn rugby through the RFU guidelines from an introduction to rugby at the younger levels with TAG RUGBY through to the introduction of contact at U9 levels and working their way to 15-a side game in the junior section.
We are a fully inclusive Club for all abilities – every player is important! We don’t leave players out or pick ‘favourites’. Every child is coached to help them grow as a player and a person. We are small enough that we know every player and value their contribution but large enough that we can offer enhanced coaching and support their rugby development.
Sharks Rugby have taken the pledge to follow England Rugby’s Kids First Rugby.
Kids First is our new approach to rugby at U7-U13 at clubs and schools across the county. It’s all about helping children develop and learn the game at their own pace, and making sure they have plenty of fun while playing. Rugby clubs across the country are taking the pledge to commit to a range of high quality standards. We have pledged to:We have RFU Qualified Coaches in every age-group. They regularly attend RFU courses as part of their planned development.
All of our coaches and volunteers are DBS checked as standard. Strict procedures are put in place for the safety of all players.
We are here for the kids at the end of the day! If we don’t keep it fun, they won’t want to play. They will never feel pressured or not part of the team.
We offer a player pathway for rugby and personal development. We have good relationships with local Premiership Community Departments.
Regular exercise and team sports are great for physical and mental health. Camaraderie in team sports gives players valuable support.
